In short

Without the online modes, the game works on your device. For online play we keep the minimum: a nickname instead of a name, your games and your rating. There is no sign-up, email or phone number. There are no ads or third-party analytics, and we do not sell data.

What stays on your device

Your settings, finished lessons and the game in progress. Deleting the app deletes them.

What the server keeps if you play online

The first time you go online, a guest profile is created. It holds your games, rating and friends.

• A nickname: random at first, and you can change it. Opponents and friends see it.
• Games: moves, result and time.
• Your rating and friends list.
• Puzzle attempts, your puzzle rating and the tournaments you joined.
• Your country and chosen style, if you set them. They show on the leaderboards.
• A sign-in key in encrypted form, so the app remembers your profile.
• A push token and the app language, if you allow notifications.

Server logs

When the app contacts the server, the IP address, time and requested address are logged, to protect against abuse and investigate failures. Logs are kept briefly and overwritten. The app may fetch game mode rules from the server even if you never play online.

Anonymous statistics

To see what works in the game, the app sends events to our server: first launch, the start and end of a game, a solved puzzle, the chosen style. With them go a random install number, the app version and where the install came from. The events are not linked to your profile, nickname or IP address and go to nobody else. They are kept for 400 days. Deleting your profile does not touch them, because they cannot be traced to you.

Who receives data

Apple delivers push notifications. Data goes to nobody else, unless the law requires it.

Deleting your data

The game's settings have a “Delete profile” button. It immediately deletes your profile, rating, friends and device tokens. Finished games stay in your opponents' history with your nickname at the time and the moves, but with the link to your profile removed. Database backups are overwritten within 14 days.

Children

The game suits all ages. We do not ask for a name or age and do not knowingly collect children's data. If a child changes their nickname to a real name, the profile can be deleted in the settings.

If the way we handle data changes, we will update this page and the date above before the new version is released.
